Extra Credit - Christian Sotomayor

Extra Credit Joseph Masterson

Symmetrical Collage by Joseph Masterson.

This artwork was created by cutting and pasting pieces of paper to form a design that is symmetrical from left and right. Although nothing is physically happening in this artwork, the viewer is most likely directed to the red areas first, with the yellow following. Before I created this, I believed one of the more meaningful symmetrical objects I could make was a coat of arms. This project was a success due to the use of primary colors which is pleasing to the eye and the style and uniqueness of the object.

The outsiders

Xtra Credit Example

Monochromatic Painting by Mr. Bobbs
This acrylic painting is based on a photo of me teaching at a school in Ecuador. In the painting a is student writing on the board and I am behind him checking his work. I only used tints and shades of the color yellow to create this artwork.
I thought this piece was successful because of the lights and darks I was able achieve and I thought I did a good job with the light coming in from the open door behind me and the the shadow it projects in front of me. I am proud of this artwork and I think it encapsulates my role as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ecuador.
